Oral Language Development Series

The Oral Language Development Series supports foundational literacy skills by providing tools for students to learn and manipulate different language structures through interaction with texts.

• Includes one copy of each of the 102 books in the series.
• Books are divided into 7 Topic Sets: school, family, food, clothing, pets, farm animals, and senses.
• Each topic set is organized around language structures (LS) that progress in a research-based order:
  • LS Entry – Wordless Book
  • LS 1 – Simple Sentence
  • LS 2 – Simple Sentence with Prepositional Phrase
  • LS 3 – Simple Sentence with Conjunction
  • LS 4 –Sentence with Prepositional Phrase and Conjunction
  • LS 5 –Sentence with Relative Pronoun
  • LS 6 – Sentence with Adverbial Clause
  • LS 7 – Sentence with Multiple Structures
• Includes a teacher’s guide with instructions about using wordless books for formative assessments.
• The goal of this series is for students to use language structures independently in a variety of situations.
